Examining Life Expectancy in Eastern Massachusetts by Census Tract, 2017-2021
Published in November 2024, our research is the latest to show gaps in life expectancy by census tracts across Massachusetts city and towns.
This report identifies disparities between and within communities, spotlights selects cities (Chelsea, Lowell, and New Bedford), and highlights key historical and social factors to consider in efforts to close the life expectancy gap.
These findings provide insights for health equity researchers, health care leaders, policymakers, philanthropic funders, and community-based organizations and leaders who seek to address root causes of health inequities.
